Brick wall masonry
Today, brick is widely used in general construction and repair activities. Exterior walls of residential and industrial premises are erected from it, interior partitions are built, fireplaces are laid, etc. In production, ceramic, clay and silicate bricks with standard sizes of 2500 * 1250 * 650 mm are most often used. The weight of one element varies from 3 to 3.1 kg.
In our country, the widespread distribution of bricks is caused by its excellent technical characteristics and the relative availability of material. For example, a ceramic brick wall holds heat 2 times better than a similar vertical construction made of monolithic concrete. Good thermal conductivity is the result of the presence of numerous pores in the brick, and air is an ideal heat insulator.
How is the brickwork of internal walls
In a private house or city apartment, interior partitions are built mainly of brick or drywall. Structures made of ceramic or silicate elements are more suitable for those people who value strength and solidity in everything. Depending on the type of wall, the masonry can be carried out in a quarter, half or a whole stone.
It must be remembered that the partitions do not tolerate rigid fastening. On three sides, the wall is flexibly pinched, only with a rigid floor grip. The technology provides for installing “verticals” of steel reinforcement with a diameter of 12 mm in places of contact between the plane of the partition wall and the existing wall. They are attached to the entire length of the room, and only after that the masonry process begins.
In the manufacture of brick partitions, along with vertical partitions, horizontal reinforcement takes place. Starting from the floor level between the vertical rods, a steel wire is launched through every 700 mm of the wall. The last 3 rows on top are fully reinforced. Brick for masonry, according to state standards in the field of construction, is taken with a brand of at least 75 strength.
Solution for laying interior partitions
Ceramic or silicate brick at construction and repair facilities is laid on a cement-sand mortar. The brand of the mixture is chosen not lower than 100. Water is added to the dry materials so that the liquid solution does not spread, at the same time an excessively dry mixture is not allowed. If part of the wall needs to be demolished, it is strictly forbidden to reuse a solution that has already been in work.
Features of the construction of partitions made of bricks
It must be remembered that the construction of partitions made of bricks is carried out in strict accordance with the requirements of construction standards. So, if the height of the partitions is more than 3 m, then every 2 m of masonry, half-timbered racks should be installed (both their steel moldings and reinforced concrete of high grades can be made). If the ceiling height does not exceed 3 m, and the length is 3 m or more, the so-called trunnions are installed at the top every 1.5 m. They are U-shaped steel elements for flexible fastening of the upper part of the partition.
There are standards regarding the thickness of horizontal and vertical joints. So, the horizontal distance between adjacent rows should not exceed 8-10 mm. Vertical joints are normalized within 10-12 mm. In the places where the plane of the partition is connected with the capital structure, the space is clogged with mounting foam or tow. It is forbidden to monopolize these voids, since in this case we are not talking about flexible jamming.
