Clinker brickwork
How to store clinker bricks? Which mortar clinker to choose? What to do if stains appear on a brick made of clinker? Learn a few practical rules on how to brick brick elevations of three-layer walls.
How to store and care for clinker bricks?
When making a clinker facade, choose a clinker brick from several pallets to compensate for any slight color differences. Bricklaying is carried out at temperatures above 5 ° C, preferably without rain. If it starts to rain during the laying of the clinker, the walls should be protected with foil. Bricks are stored on pallets, in their original packaging and protected from contact with the ground and atmospheric factors. Remove dirt from the clinker as soon as they appear. Do not use sharp tools that can damage the surface of the brick. It is best to cut them with the right tools - a stone saw or a grinder.
Clinker mortar
It is best to use ready-made clinker solutions that guarantee the correct ratio of ingredients. They should be processed in accordance with the recommendations of the manufacturers, and the joints should be cemented (with a mass intended for clinker bricks) after the mortar has completely dried, choosing special joints. You can also use the same solution for joints and joints. In this case, the experience and accuracy of the masons matter - they cannot stain the wall being built. For hand-molded bricks, use a different mortar than machine mortar, as it differs in water absorption.
How to cover clinker walls?
Filling the joints in the finished wall depends on the solution you use. A good solution is to purchase a mortar that is used for masonry and simultaneous cementation. Thanks to this, both operations are performed using the same material, which saves time and money. When preparing the solution for use, it is necessary to strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging, which, in particular, concern the mixing solution, including the correct proportions of water and mixing. If you use the mortar for the simultaneous laying of bricks and grout, it must be applied to the entire surface of the brick and shaped joints before binding. Do not leave unfinished welds in the finished wall.
Clinker dirt removal
A neat, sealed construction using appropriate binders will protect the bricks from white deposits and salinization. If they appear, they can be removed with a brush and hot water or special cleaning products. There are also drugs to remove stains from clinker. Before using them, it is worth checking their work in a small area, as they can change the color of the brick.
