Ceramic tile selection
What you need to know when choosing a tile?
You probably know that tiles should look beautiful. However, first of all, you need to look at the technical parameters. The most important is the degree of absorbability. Bathrooms are places where there is high humidity, which contributes to the formation of mold and fungi. For this reason, the tile must be resistant to absorption. She also should not let water through. Tiles usually have signs of the degree of absorption that they represent. The lower the better.
Another parameter worth checking out is anti-slip. The bathroom often has so much water on the floor that you have to be careful not to lose your balance. Tiles labeled R9, R10, R11 or R12 are among the most non-slip, so you should pay attention to them. In addition, the tile must have low abrasiveness. This means that they are solid and therefore more resistant to mechanical damage.
The choice of tile largely depends on the taste, but it should be borne in mind that bright colors better reflect light. Due to this, they optically enlarge small spaces. Dark tiles, in turn, will be a good choice in large bathrooms.
A selection of fugues for bathrooms
Finding the right tiles is only half the story. Fugue must be selected carefully. It also should not be absorbent. Then water or other liquids will not change their color and will not weaken its durability. It must also be resistant to the use of chemicals, being easily washed. Such properties are usually attributed to epoxy fugues. They are highly durable. For this reason, they should be considered if you do not want to carry out another repair in a few years.
When choosing a product to combine, consider aesthetic values. The appearance of the joints should correspond to the rest of the room, so you should look for manufacturers who offer them in different color options. In the case of light welds, it is especially important that they do not turn yellow over time. That is why it is so important to choose high-quality products.
